Evan Cantor is a seasoned Colorado wilderness artist whose work captures the raw beauty and enduring spirit of the natural world. For decades, his evocative scratchboard illustrations have stirred the hearts of conversationists and nature lovers alike, appearing in revered publications such as Wild Earth, High Country News, and in books by celebrated photographer John Fielder.
His imagery has graced covers from ReWilding Earth Unplugged to Mountain Pages and the Boulder Daily Camera's Friday Magazine, each piece reflecting his deep connection to wild places. Evan's art has been exhibited at notable venues including the Arts & Letters Club of Toronto, NCAR, pARTiculars in Lafayette, and R-Gallery in Boulder.
A passionate advocate for the environment, Evan is a proud member of the Temagami 22 – a collective of North American artists united in their commitment to conservation. He served as an artist-in-residence at the Rocky Mountain Land Library and was recognized by the Southern Rockies Conservation Alliance for his outstanding contributions to wilderness preservation in Colorado.
When he's not drawing the spirit of the world, Evan brings that same energy to the stage, playing guitar and blues harp with his classic rock band, the CBDs.
